• Firefighters responded to North Jackson Street to a report of power lines down. They found and removed cable lines from the roadway.
• Firefighters stood by at Americus-Sumter High School, 805 Harrold Ave., for a football game.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on North Dudley Street. There were no hazards found.
• Firefighters responded to a possible structure fire on East Forsyth Street. The manager told them she had problems with the lights and smelled something burning. They used a thermal imager and found a burned light switch.
• Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire on McGarrah Street which had been extinguished upon their arrival.
• Firefighters responded to Lynnview Circle to a gas leak. A lawnmower had struck a gas line.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Falcon Drive. The found a faulty detector.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on East Jefferson Street which was activated by someone using a fog machine.
• Firefighters responded to West Forsyth Street to the report of a refrigerator fire. They found a light receptacle that had shorted out and melted its plastic housing.
