AMERICUS — Dr. Frank Adams Wilson IV, age 62, of 133 S. Bailey Ave., Leslie, died Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A native of Americus, he was born Jan. 2, 1954, the son of the late Dr. Frank Adams Wilson III and Adalyn Wilson who survives him. Dr. Wilson was a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia and was a past member of the Rotary Club, American Medical Association. He started his practice in 1982. Frank was a loving husband and father who was an avid hunter, fisherman and farmer. He enjoyed working on his farm and growing roses. He always said, “I practice medicine to support my farming habit.”
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016, in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends at the family residence, 133 S. Bailey Ave., and also at 1 p.m. at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel prior to the service Sunday, May 1, 2016. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Leslie United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 116, Leslie GA 31764 or to the charity of one’s choice.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years Angie Wilson of Leslie; four daughters, Lyn Wilson of Augusta, Lauren Wilson of Americus, Mary Frances Wilson of Atlanta and Sara Katherine Wilson of Columbus; two sons, Frank Adams Wilson V of Americus and Dallas Arnold of Leslie; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane Butler Abernathy and Joel of Leslie, Sara Gray and Carey of Snellville, Dr. Emily Wilson of College Station, Texas, and Anne Norton and Bill of Alexandria, Va.; several nieces and nephews, Dawn Whitten and Ken, Betsy Estes and Jonathan, Rebecca Ricks and Steven, Anna Gray and Phillip Norton; and a great-nephew, Jackson Whitten.
