Shooting suspect identified

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Region III Office is assisting the Americus Police Department in its investigation of a Wednesday night shooting death.

According to official sources, the incident occurred at a car wash at 610 McGarrah St. and they were notified at 11:09 p.m. The victim, Tracy Harvey Johnson, 30, of Americus, was taken by to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. An official said Johnson had just been released from the Sumter County Jail around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The suspect has been identified as Riyod Reddick, age 22. Reddick is described as a black male, 5’08” to 5’11” tall and weighing approximately 150 lbs. He has black hair in a medium cut style, brown
eyes, tattoos on his chest, neck and face, and gold teeth. He is wanted for murder.

He was last seen leaving the area of McGarrah Street on foot, wearing either a red jumpsuit or red shirt and pants.
