AMERICUS — Americus

Campbell Chapel  Worship Center

All mothers, daughters, grandmothers, stepmothers, god mothers and all women who have helped a child or an adult will be honored in a special Mothers Day program at 11 a.m. Sunday. Light refreshments will be served.

St. John's Anglican Church

A community prayer service starts at 3 p.m. May 18 at  Lenny’s Market, Hampton Street.

New Ebenezer Baptist Church

The annual revival is at 7:30 p.m. May -29 with the Rev. R.L. Duncan as guest evangelist. Everyone is invited.

Antioch Baptist Church

The pastor’s pre-anniversary service is at 7 p.m. May 14 with the Rev. J. Kelley and New Jerusalem Baptist Church in charge. At 7 p.m. May 15, the Rev. J. Jones and New Ebenezer Baptist Church are in charge and at 2:30 p.m. May 18, Oak Grove Baptist Church, Albany and its minister are in charge. Everyone is invited.

New Corinth Baptist Church

The anniversaries of the church and pastor are celebrated at 2 p.m. May 18.  All area churches and the public are invited.

Mount Pleasant Baptist Church

The Sumter Benefit Club hosts a musical benefit program for Brother Nathaniel Wright at 5 p.m. May 31.

Mauk

Evergreen Baptist Church

The pastor’s ninth anniversary is celebrated at 11:30 a.m. May 18 with the Rev. Sterling Vereen of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Americus, as speaker. Everyone is welcome.

Montezuma

Magnolia Baptist Church

The Annual Revival is at 7:30 p.m. May 12-16 with rivivalist for the week, Bishop Clarence Glover of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Homecoming services are observed at 11 a.m. May 18, with the Rev. Hosie Waters, pastor.

Smithville

New Hope A.M.E. Church

The annual Youth Revival is at 7:30 p.m. May 13-15 with the program as follows: Tuesday, Minister  Ricky Cladd; Wednesday, the Rev. Ronrica Gordon; Thursday, the Rev. Jerome Jones. Youth Day is celebrated at 11 a.m. May 18 with Chantulia Peeches Adaway, assistant public defender in Tifton. Everyone is invited.

Family and Friends Week is celebrated at 7:30 p.m. June 2-5 with the program as follows: Monday, the Rev. Dr. J. A. Stephens of Union Baptist Church, Albany; Tuesday, a musical concert; Wednesday, the Rev. Dr. Timothy French; Thursday, the Rev. Carl Wilson. Everyone is invited.
