County Line Baptist Church
We will be having the annual Candlelight Program at 5 p.m. Sunday Dec. 18. Pastor Ronrica Gordon and Macedonia and New Providence Baptist Church will be in charge of the service. The public is invited. Refreshments will be served. Our colors are green and gold.
St. John Baptist Church
The church and pastor’s anniversaries are observed Sunday with Sunday school starting at 9:45 a.m. and worship service at 11. At 2:30 the Rev. W. W. Wilson and Oak Grove Baptist Church of Cordele will be in charge of the service. Dinner will be served.
Perry Grove Baptist Church
The annual Christmas Program is at 6 p.m. Sunday; the public is invited.
Starting Jan. 1, Sunday School starts at 10 a.m. and worhsip service at 11 a.m. Also every fourth Sunday there will be a 9 a.m. service.
Lebanon Baptist Church
Regular church services will be at 9 a.m. December 25 with the Rev. Hosie Waters presiding.
St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church
The annual Christmas Eve Candlelight and Carols service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday Dec. 24. The offering will be donated to the local Community Transient Fund and food (canned goods and non-perishable) items will be received and donated to a local food pantry ministry.
Jerusalem Grove Baptist Church
Early morning service on Christmas Day will start with Sunday School at 8 a.m. and regular service will be at 9 a.m. The Pastor Rev. Charles Carr Jr. of Albany will bring the message. The public is welcome.
New Hope AME Church
The Four Gospel Writers program will be held at 4 p.m. December 18. Speakers are Ministers Georgia Deriso, DeAnn Holsey, Apostle Marnie Cagle and the Rev. Shirley Strawter. Everyone is invited.
Drayton Baptist Church
A Christmas program celebrating the Nativity of our Lord at 6 p.m. Sunday December 18. The program, entitles, The Prince of Peace, is a live reenactment of the events leading up to the nativity of the Christ child. There will be adult re-enactments of Mary, Joseph and the angel Gabriel, along with a heavenly host of young angels and shepherds. The story is told through special vocal pieces sung by the church musicians, hymns sung by the congregation and narrative readings from the wisdom of Isaiah and Luke. This program is written, arranged, produced and acted by the congregation and friends of the church residing in Dooly, Crisp and Sumter counties. Light refreshments will follow in the fellowship hall.
Zion Hope Baptist Church
A Youth Praise Night and Christmas Program are at 7 p.m. Friday. Youth from Sumter and surrounding counties will speak, sing and praise through dance on this program. Everyone is welcome. Refreshments will be served.
