Well, I had one.
I have heard of people talking about having epiphanies about this and that, and though I am sure in 38 plus years of life I have had a few, I just didn’t know it.
In the world of politics, especially politics locally, people seem to have lots of epiphanies about the candidates. Look at the newspaper, listen to the radio, watch television, if you don’t believe me. Hey, go eat breakfast at the King’s Inn or Granny’s Kitchen, and I am sure you will hear a lot of epiphanies about the local political races and candidates.

Last night, or early this morning, I had an epiphany. In literature, an epiphany is defined as a sudden revelation of an underlying truth about a person or situation.
I even heard some at church a couple of Sundays ago.
Church is a great place to hear about revelations--and I don’t mean the book in the Bible.
Another great place to hear others’ epiphanies on life is in the line at Winn Dixie or at Wal-Mart.
Oh, the epiphanies you will hear, if you just open your ears.
In fact, today, as part of my job, I was visiting a local public office to get some facts for a story, and I got an earful of epiphanies about ‘this, that and the other.’ To save face, I must tell you, their epiphanies were not bad or anything that the public couldn’t hear or shouldn’t hear.
And they didn’t even know I was in the room.
I was kind of hidden behind a wall, getting some public records, when someone walked around the corner, sort of surprised to see me.
I told her I didn’t want to intrude on their conversation, so I just went about my business.
“Next time, you should announce your presence.” (She was very kind about it though).
And that is an epiphany in itself. Sometimes, things are not always what they seem to be, or what we might hear. So, we shouldn’t assume the worst until we have heard the meaning.
I heard someone say they had an epiphany about the honesty of people, especially people in leadership roles in the community.
