• Firefighters/first responders answered two EMS/medical calls.
• A structure fire was reported at a North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard residence.
• A trash/rubbish fire was reported on Park Row.

Arrests
• A juvenile is charged with burglary at a Rucker Street residence. According to reports, a V-cast cell phone valued at $20 and a DVD were stolen.
• Kerri Wilson Untch, 49, of 219 Valley Drive, Americus is charged with theft by shoplifting at the Wal-Mart Supercenter, 1809 E. Lamar St. According to reports, she allegedly stole books valued at $76.33.
• Jada Denmark Carson, 30, of 701 Davenport St., Americus is charged with disorderly conduct.

Incidents
• Unruly juvenile was reported at a Barlow Street residence.
• Drug activity was reported at a Davenport Street residence.
• Burglary was reported at Williams Furniture, 106 Swett Ave.
• Harassing phone calls were reported at an Academy Street residence.
• Animal complaint was reported at the Sumter Humane Society, 702 Magnolia St.
• Theft by taking was reported at an Anderson Street residence. According to reports, a plant holder was stolen.
• Criminal trespass was reported at a Bozeman Circle residence.

Accidents
• Troopers investigated an accident around 4:30 p.m. Friday on Ga. Highway 30 and County Road 21 in Sumter County.
According to reports, Scotty Wayne Johnson, 33, of Smiths Station, Ala., was traveling east on Ga. Highway 30, in a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. A pedestrian, Jadira Trevino, 20, of 1225 Ga. Highway 30, Americus “ran into the path of” Johnson’s vehicle.
Johnson’s vehicle struck Trevino with the left front end of his vehicle. The area of impact was in the eastbound lane of Ga. Highway 30, according to the GSP.
“Prior to the accident, the 911 Center had dispatched units to check on a Hispanic female darting out in front of traffic,” according to the report. “The pedestrian stated at the hospital, she was attempting suicide.”
Charges against Trevino are pending, according to the report. Neither Johnson nor any of his four passengers were injured. Trevino was taken by Sumter EMS to Sumter Regional Hospital.
• Troopers investigated an accident around 1 a.m. Sunday in Marion County on Ga. Highway 41 near Palmer Cemetery Road.
According to reports, Dorothy Ouellette, 46, of Mauk was traveling north on Ga. Highway 41 in a 1988 Chevrolet Beretta.
According to reports, Ouellette told troopers that a deer was in her lane, and she attempted to avoid striking the deer and lost control of her vehicle.
Her vehicle traveled off the west shoulder of Ga. Highway 41 and up a dirt embankment, striking a tree. After impact, the vehicle rotated 120 degrees counterclockwise, before coming to rest facing south, according to reports.
Ouellette is charged with having defective tires, and she and passenger Kevin Hodge, 29, of Columbus were taken to the Columbus Medical Center by Marion EMS.
• Troopers investigated another accident around 2 p.m. July 2 on the same highway near Airport Road in Marion County.
According to reports, Allen Eugene Kinslow, 39, of Smiths Station, Ala., was traveling north on Ga. Highway 41, in a 2005 International TT.
The right side of the vehicle left the roadway on the east side of Ga. Highway 41, according to reports. Kinslow’s vehicle traveled down the roadway approximately 290 feet before reentering the roadway sideways and overturning.
Kinslow’s vehicle came to rest in the southbound lane of Ga. Highway 41 on its top facing south, according to reports.
No charges or citations were issued.

Sumter County Sheriff’s Office

Arrests
• Jessie Lewis Smith III, 25, of 105 Falcon Drive, Americus is charged with probation violation. He was jailed.
• Javoris Sharod Harper, 17, of 203-A Lakeview Circle, Americus is charged with theft by shoplifting. He was released on bond.
• Tonisha Shurnell Barron, 21, of 85-A Dixon Drive, Americus was arrested on a bench warrant. She was jailed.

Citations
• Corey Jermaine Griggs, 30, of Lumber City is charged with speeding.
• Sarah Hudson, no age or address provided, is charged with speeding.
• Anginet Mathis, 30, of 317 Hosanna Circle, Americus is charged with seat belt violation.

Incidents
• Animal complaint was reported at a Grover Drive residence. According to reports, there was a complaint of a dog bite, but the owner had turned the dog out.
• Suspicious person (trespassing) was reported in the vicinity of Ga. Highway 49 North and Airport Road.
• Animal complaint was reported at a Leslie residence. According to reports, the complainant said the family dog bit her 9-year-old son, but that all was OK. The complainant requested follow-up action.
• A 911 hang-up was reported at a Daisy Drive residence.
