• Firefighters responded to an Ashby Street residence to a report of smoke odor.
• Firefighters responded to a North Jackson Street residence to a report of a buzzing noise inside. It was ascertained it to be a doorbell speaker plugged into a receptacle.
• Firefighters responded to a Bell Street residence where they removed a bat.
• Firefighters responded to one call for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to a Tripp Street location to a report of a strong odor of bleach or other chemical.

Americus Police Department

Incidents
• A weed eater was reported stolen at a Tabby Lane residence.
• A checkbook was reported stolen at an East Glessner Street residence.

Arrests
• Alonza Cross, 48, of Albany is charged with deposit account fraud. He was jailed.
• Charles J. Tookes, 31, of 1109-B Oglethorpe Ave., Americus is charged with driving while license is suspended. He was released on bond.
• Jontae Tremayne Thomas, 22, of 612 Valley Drive, Americus is charged with probation violation. He was jailed.
• Latoya Wilson, 22, of 107-H Magnolia Court, Americus is charged with probation violation and disorderly conduct. She was jailed.
• Shalanda Twan Williams, 29, of 259-D Lonnie Lane, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct. She was jailed.
• Joshua Williams, 27, of 254-B Lonnie Lane, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct. He was jailed.
• Mary Jane Williams, 48, of 156-A Forrest Park, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct. She was jailed.

Incidents
• Deputies responded to alarms at three residences.
• A domestic disturbance was reported at a Poole Gin House Road residence.
• A suspicious vehicle was reported at on East Railroad Street.
• Loose livestock was reported in the area of U.S. Highway 280 East and Cook Drive.
• A reckless driver was reported in the area of U.S. Highways 19 South and 280 West.
• A small Chihuahua-type dog was removed from a warehouse on Austin Drive by the County’s animal control officer, and returned to its owner on Crisp Drive.
• The County’s animal control officer picked up a stray dog at Powell Farms and took it to the Sumter Humane Society animal shelter.
• The County’s animal control officer trapped three wild dogs at a Ga. Highway 45 South residence and took them to the Sumter Humane Society animal shelter.
• Harassing phone calls were reported at a Jasmine Drive residence.
