Americus Fire & Emergency Services

• Firefighters responded to a hazardous material call at U.S. Highways 280 and 19. It was determined that a construction truck was leaking water on to the roadway, nothing toxic.

• Firefighters responded to four calls for medical assistance.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm at a Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard business where a chemical cleaner has activated it.

• Firefighters responded to a report of a gas leak at a Bronco Drive residence. Upon investigation, it was determined the odor was coming from a lid blown off a can of roofing tar .

Arrests

• A fight at 2:30 a.m. Thursday at Huddle House, 1202 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., resulted in five arrests: Javerick D. Barner, 20, of 224 Barnum Drive, Americus is charged with underage consumption/possession of alcohol and disorderly conduct; Calvin Daniels, 31, of 504-B Bessie Mays Circle, Americus is charged with assault/battery; Jarvis D. Green, 22, of 219 Brookdale Drive, Americus is charged with assault/battery; Brandon A. Campbell, 23, of 1419 Parker St., Americus is charged with assault/battery; and Christopher Austin, 24, of Bainbridge is charged with assault/battery and non-compliance. A vehicle was reported damaged during the fight.

• Lashunadae Reese, 17, of Weeks Trailer Park, 916.5 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Americus is charged with disorderly conduct and non-compliance.

• Three juveniles were charged with disorderly conduct and non-compliance at Weeks Trailer Park.

• Ocatavious Griner, no age or address provided, was arrested on a bench warrant. He was jailed.
