AMERICUS — Americus Fire and Emergency Services

• Firefighters responded to 32 calls for medical assistance.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Wildwood Circle which turned out to be triggered by someone burning food on the stove.

• Firefighters responded to a possible electrical fire on East Lamar Street where they found an air conditioning unit had overheated.

• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at East Forsyth and Prince streets.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm at the Windsor Hotel, 125 E. Lamar St., which was accidentally set.

• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Magnolia Street.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm on East Furlow Street. It was a false alarm.

• Firefighters responded to a tree that had fallen on a residence on Patton Drive.

• Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire on Bessie Mays Circle.

• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on U.S. Highway 280 East and Ga. Highway 27 East.

• Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Sun Valley Drive where they found a kitchen fire had been extinguished.

• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Academy Street.

• Firefighters responded to North Jackson Street to a report of a tree limb falling on a house.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm on West Lamar Street. Nothing was found.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm at Staley Middle School, 915 N. Lee St., which was pulled by a student. There was no fire.

• Firefighters responded to an unauthorized burn on Parker Street where they found occupant with two small burn piles. They advised the person of the City’s no-burn policy and turned the scene over to the Americus Police Department.

Arrests

• Timothy Foster, 24, of 102-B Eastview Circle, Americus is charged with reckless conduct, and was jailed.

• Antwan D. Green, 33, of 1311 Norris Circle, Americus is charged with simple battery, and was jailed.

• Dontavious Q. Hunter, 20, of 733 N. Lee St.,  Americus is charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance, and was jailed.

• Orlando C. Johnson, 28, of 119 Town Creek Circle, Americus is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

• William Laster II, 29, of 219-E Murphy Mill Road, Americus is charged with theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

• Antorie D. Munns, 23, of 243 Brookdale Drive, Americus is charged with failure to appear in court, and was jailed.

• Patrick O. Thomas, 30, of 110 Knollwood Drive, Apt. 7-F, Americus is charged with probation violation.
