Plains resident Timothy Jackson was the first person to make a donation for the Sumter Regional Hospital Souvenir Brick Drive. SRH started the drive to give people a chance to own their piece of its 50-year-old facility, which was destroyed by the March 1, 2007, tornado and is currently being demolished in order to make way for a new facility. All of the net proceeds will go towards the building of the new facility, which is scheduled for groundbreaking in October of this year and an opening date of 2010. Here, SRH Vice President of External Operations/Marketing Comfort Green presents the souvenir brick to Jackson. Anyone interested in making a donation for a brick can call (229) 928-4000 and ask for someone in the Marketing & PR Department or go online at www.sumterregional.org.
