PLAINS

Residents and staff of Lillian Carter Nursing Center recently held the first Miss Lillian Carter Nursing Center Pageant. Eight contestants participated in the competition before a packed facility. The pageant was emceed by Gary Ingram, superintendent the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site, with judges, Plains Police Chief Matt Busbee, Andrea Oates and Kristen Hudgens. Intermission entertainment was provided by resident Mozella Boges and her family, with a dance immediately following with music provided by Patrick Cobb and Clarence Cooper.

Kurland will be entered as a candidate into the State Pageant sponsored by the Georgia Health Care Association, involving nursing homes throughout Georgia.

The contestants who participated in the pageant, in addition to Kurland, were Bonnie Maier, Bonnie Hammonds, Frances Barrrineau, Ella Golden, Dolly Clayton, Ceciline White and Sara McCoy.
