Two juveniles were arrested Tuesday in connection with a series of local burglaries.

According to a press release from the Americus Police Department, detectives arrested a 15-year-old female on four counts of burglary in connection with burglaries occurring in Americus between June 21 and 23. Those burglaries occurred at the Wheatley House on Oglethorpe Avenue, Gerrie’s at 201 N. Mayo St. and Dollar General at 103 W. Jefferson St.

Also arrested was a 14-year-old male who was charged with two counts of burglary in connection with the Wheatley House burglary.

Also during the investigation, and while in the area of Weeks Trailer Park, 916.5 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., detectives recovered several laptop computers and digital cameras that had been stolen in a burglary at Staley Middle School, North Lee Street. That case has been turned over to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
