Almost a dozen more individuals have been arrested in relation to a Sept. 19 murder at the Elks Club in Americus.

A party on the evening of Sept. 18 at the local club resulted in one injury and one death after a fight erupted.

Americus Police were called to Sumter Regional Hospital East at 2:18 a.m. Sept. 19 to the report of an aggravated assault incident, which had occurred at the Elks Club, 1203 N. Jackson St. where a fight inside the club had escalated into the parking lot where two men were stabbed.

The release says that Kentroylis Clark, 23, of Starlight Circle, Americus and Trampest Arnett, 23, of Cypress Drive, Americus had both been stabbed multiple times in the upper torso. Clark was treated for his injuries at Sumter Regional and was released a couple of days later while Arnett was transported to Columbus Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at 5:18 a.m. Friday.

Around 10 a.m. Sept. 22, Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) Campus Police took into custody London Renay Morgan, 19, of Fayetteville. She is charged with one count of murder and one count of aggravated assault. She was jailed at the Sumter County Jail.

Earlier this week, 11 more people were arrested. They are Johnny W. Hopkins, an Elks Club member, charged with maintaining a disorderly house, tampering with evidence and two counts of obstruction; Arthur Ingram, an Elks Club member, charged with maintaining a disorderly house, tampering with evidence and obstruction; Larry Sheppard, an Elks Club member, charged with maintaining a disorderly house, tampering with evidence and obstruction; Marcus Johnson, a college student who hosted the party, charged with maintaining a disorderly house; Jeremy T. Hawkes, charged with affray; Sedrick Swan, a co-host of the party with Johnson, charge with maintaining a disorderly house; Brian Evans, charged with affray; Kentroylis K. Clark, a stabbing victim, charged with affray; Brandon M. Sims, charged with affray; Brandon L. Shaw, charged with affray; and Marcus A. Jones, charged with affray and sexual battery.

Authorities said Jones is accused of inappropriately touching London Renay Morgan inside the club, which started the fight that ultimately ended up in the parking lot.

No ages or addresses of those arrested Monday were made available from the Americus Police Department. All except Clark were jailed.
