Hog Jog set for Oct. 31

VIENNA

Plans are underway for this year’s 5K Hog Jog and one mile race which will be held Oct. 31 in conjunction with the annual Big Pig Jig Festival.

Dooly County 4-H Club is organizing the “Run & See Georgia” Grand Prix event, and proceeds will benefit that organization.

The one mile run begins at 7:45 a.m. at Dooly County High School on Ga. Highway 41 north of here, then the 5K will follow at 8:15 a.m.

Registration is $20 or $10 for youth 14 and under. Male and female winners will be announced in a variety of age categories as well as the overall winners.

Anyone who would like to register before the day of the race should contact Emmy Reid at 229-268-4171 or etreid@uga.edu.

Following the Hog Jog, there will be a parade and other events in downtown Vienna.
