AMERICUS

The Board of Directors of SB&T Bank, a Synovus affiliate bank, has announced the retirement of Randolph "Randy" Jones as city president of SB&T Bank, effective Dec. 31, 2009. The Board also named Lee T. "Ty" Turner as city president of SB&T to succeed Jones as city president. Jones will continue to serve on the Board of Directors of SB&T.

"Randy's impressive level of leadership and service to customers has helped position the bank as a leader in the Americus market," said Mark L. Lane, SB&T president and CEO. "We wish Randy the best in his well-deserved retirement and look forward to great leadership from Ty. Our company is very fortunate to have a leader of Ty's experience and market knowledge ready to guide the talented team in Americus.”

Jones began his career with Synovus in 1994, as the president and CEO of Sumter Bank and Trust.

Turner, a 21-year SB&T banking veteran, began his career with the bank as a teller. He previously served as senior lending officer and commercial lending officer, and was selected as vice president of SB&T in 2000. Turner's community involvement includes serving as chairman of the Economic Development Committee of the Americus and Sumter County Chamber of Commerce, Board member of the Georgia Southwestern State University Foundation and Americus Kiwanis Club. Turner is a 1989 graduate of Georgia Southwestern College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
