Votes just keep pouring in for Sumter Regional Hospital (SRH) in the Seimen’s MRI contest.

According to Marcus Johnson, director of public relations and marketing for the hospital, in a press release Monday, SRH had 121,578 votes as of Monday morning.

“Other people are taking notice of our cause, as well,” he said in the release.

He added that on Sunday, WSB-TV in Atlanta came to do a piece on the hospital’s “quest to rebuild and recover” from the March 1 tornado, “as well as an update on the MRI contest.”

During the television station’s trip to the hospital, reporter Tara Jones interviewed Nadine Pope — who was recently featured in the Americus Times-Recorder. Pope has an illness that requires frequent use of an MRI.

“Look for this piece to air sometime in December,” Johnson added in the media release.

The hospital has also received support from Sumter County, Fla., “which has had its own share of bad weather stories! They are voting for us ... and join a large contingent of individuals and organizations that want to see that MRI system in our community,” Johnson added.

To vote, go to www.winanmri.com and view the video “Blown Away.” Participants can vote once a day on each computer every day through Dec. 31.
