Winn-Dixie announces discount generic drug program

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. has announced the launch of a discount generic drug program in their Macon and Columbus stores which offers shoppers discounts on over 400 generic drugs. Prescription prices are $3.99 for a 30-day supply, $7.98 for a 60-day supply and $9.99 for a 90-day supply. Some additional women’s health medications are available for $8.99 for a 30-day supply and $23.99 for a 90-day supply.

“Between the difficult economy and the rising cost of health care, it is more important than ever for us to provide savings to our valued customers,” said Robin Miller, Winn-Dixie’s director of communications. “We know that shoppers are struggling to stretch their dollars, and this program gives them a more affordable option for managing their families’ health-care needs.”

The program does not require any special enrollment fees or memberships, and Winn-Dixie Pharmacists will work with customers to transfer prescriptions from other pharmacies to any of the participating Winn-Dixie locations in Americus, Macon, Columbus, Warner Robins, Bonaire, Dublin and Bonaire in Georgia, and in Phenix City, Opelika, Auburn and Eufaula in Alabama.
