Steven Russell Ledbetter

ALBANY — Mr. Steven Russell Ledbetter, 57, passed away Tuesday morning, March 20, 2012, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at his residence, 132 Taylor St., Americus. A Memorial Service was to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, ar Calvary Episcopal Church with Father Don Hutchens officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tony Smith, Wesley Taylor, Rick Bearden, Boyd Jackson, Darrell Garner and Lee Cox.

Mr. Ledbetter was born Nov. 6, 1954, in Atlanta, Ga., the son of Robert Kenneth Ledbetter and the late Shirley Mae Dunlop Ledbetter. He was president of Jones Automatic Sprinkler Inc. in Americus and was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church. Steve valued working side by side with his father and brother, providing for his family, serving his church and a good laugh. He enjoyed weekend rides on his motorcycle, grilling out, fishing, hunting, puppies and babies. Most importantly, he loved his family and friends and the memories he made with them. He was a well loved man.

Mr. Ledbetter is survived by his beloved wife Sissy Dudley Ledbetter of Americus; three sons, Thomas Dudley Ledbetter, Tyler Jackson Ledbetter and Steven Robert Ledbetter, all of Americus; a brother and sister-in-law Robert [Bob] Johnston Ledbetter and Georgia of Americus; also surviving are four nieces and six nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Episcopal Church Endowment Fund, 408 S. Lee St., Americus GA 31709 or to Southland Academy Band, P.O. Box 1127, Americus GA 31709.
