Jeffrey Clifton Singley: March 26, 2012

AMERICUS — Jeffrey Clifton Singley, 46, of 199 Overlook Road, Americus, Ga., died March 23, 2012, in Winter Park, Colo. A native of Americus, Jeff was born to Cliff and Laverne Singley on Aug. 23, 1965. A graduate of Americus High School, Jeff was previously employed by Piggly Wiggly, Biltomore Exterminators and Waste Management. Jeff was currently employed by Arrow Exterminators Inc., based in Atlanta, Ga.

Jeff started his career with Arrow in 1991, as a salesman in Macon, Ga., focusing on growing the business in the Macon and Savannah markets. He was quickly promoted to branch manager and then Region vice president for all of South Georgia. He helped grow the South Georgia area to more than $1 million in revenue in two years. That same area now generates $14 million in business for Arrow. Jeff’s leadership, along with others, helped grow the company from nine locations and $10 million in revenue in 1991 to 70 offices operating in nine states and generating $110 million in revenue today. He was instrumental in growing the company both through internal growth and strategic acquisitions. Jeff was good at finding, training, recognizing, rewarding and keeping only the best people, a characteristic that served him well.

Over the course of his career, he won all the awards the company bestows, many of them on multiple occasions, including the Starkey Thomas Manager of the Year Award, the John Millican Impact Player of the Year Award, the Gerald Ellerbee Salesman of The Year Award and various Golden Arrow and Beyond the Call awards. In 2009, as Arrow’s Executive Vice President, Jeff was honored by Syngenta Professional Products and Pest Control Technology magazine as one of their Crown Leadership Award winners. This prestigious award spotlights individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of the structural pest control industry, with characteristics such as strong leadership and integrity. An active member of many local and state industry associations, Jeff also served on the WDO committee for the National Pest Management Association. Jeff was named chief operating officer in June 2010, before being appointed president of the company earlier this month.

Jeff was a member of Williams Road Church of Christ where he was a deacon; he was also a past member of the board for the Southland Raider Club and a past member of the Dow Sentricon Advisory Board.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Williams Road Church of Christ with Keith Wishum officiating. Burial will follow at Singley Farms. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, March 27, 2012, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel, and at other times at the family residence, 199 Overlook Road. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Jeff Singley Memorial Fund at Citizens Bank to continue his charitable works. Pallbearers include Kevin Burns, Ben Dupree, John Ferguson, Stan Hodges, Sport Horne, Randy Nader, Tim Pollard and Tom Wharton. Honorary pallbearers include deacons of Williams Road Church of Christ and executive officers of Arrow Exterminators.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Liz Singley of Americus; two sons, Kyle Singley of Americus and Ryan Singley of Americus; and a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Melissa Singley of Americus.
