Webster students use GALILEO

PRESTON — Seniors in Everett Byrd’s literature and composition course have been working hard to locate resources and compile information for the research paper assignment that was due Dec. 13.

Students were given the guidelines for this assignment in mid-October. At that time, Marcia Roberts, Media Specialist for the Webster County School System, presented the students with information to help them utilize GALILEO (an invaluable online research tool free to all Georgia citizens) successfully and guidelines and resources for composing their papers including MLA formatting guides.

Since then, Roberts has worked with the students one-on-one in the media center to aid them in selecting and narrowing their topic choices, collecting relevant print resources, and formatting their bibliographies.

Hopefully the experiences the students have gained through completing this assignment have made them better prepared for the rigors of college level literature and composition courses.
