To begin with I would like to acknowledge my roots. My daddy was a sharecropper, which was a hard life any way you look at it. He had numerous friends, and everyone knew him as “Grandpa,” young and old alike. My mama was a homemaker until after Daddy passed away. She was known as “Miss Lonie” until after the grandchildren came on. Then everyone called her “Granny.” Mama kept a full stock of TLC (tender loving care). It came along long before penicillin and was good for anything from a “stumped toe” to a broken heart, with no side effects. They were both devout Christians. So that’s the way I was raised. Then as I got older, I got side-tracked. I lived that way for many years, then the Rev. William Hall of Calvary Baptist Church helped me get back on track.

Now I want to get to my main issue: I study my Bible more now, and things happen so much as God has warned us. He told us of storms and floods and insects and droughts that He would send if we disobeyed Him. You can get your Bible and check for yourself. Read Ezekiel 38: 20-23; Hosea 2: 2-6; Joel 1: 4-10; Amos 7: 1-4. There are many more of God’s predictions, if we do not obey Him, but these are some I just recorded.

Let’s all get on our knees and ask God to take control of our lives and make us better people. Prayer can make great changes in our world. Just love and trust in God and see what a difference it makes.
