AMERICUS — There is one hope

Our nation is firmly set on the wrong path and travelling in the wrong direction with uncommon speed. Has anyone not heard these things in the past six months? Is anyone concerned? With a national debt that threatens our existence, our moral values degenerating to an all time low, every day bringing a new calamity and then the secular invasion compounds our problems. How did that get in? When political correctness replaced Biblical correctness as our rules to live by, it paved the way for secularism to wield its power. Secular means anti-Christian and it doesn’t co-exist with Christianity so that is another war to fight. At this time it seems they are winning too many points. Who removed all Christian symbols from public places? Who is trying to abolish Christmas as a federal holiday? Who says no Christmas carols on courthouse lawn. It doesn’t stop there. Atheism has increased in a years time or they are more vocal this year. They will continue to downgrade Christianity. We are taking our freedom for granted and that is dangerous. Satan is working all of the time especially where he see a weakness.

This great nation, founded on Judeo-Christian principles, has served us well for 238 years. One hundred and fifty of those years are since the civil war. The breach of the war was healing and the United States of America continued as “one nation under God.” That was a great achievement. It conserns me greatly that our people are so divided now. In all of my years I’ve never seen anything like this. Something is terribly wrong in a Christian nation.

One of my great concerns is what kind of world will my great-grandchildren grow up in; and what circumstances my children and grandchildren will cope with. What is our chance of getting back on the right path?

There is one hope: Prov. 3: 5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall director your paths.”
