Seeks information about Georgia
My name is Caleb and I am a 5th grader at Faith Christian School in Kearney, Nebraska. My class is studying the 50 states and I have chosen Georgia as my state. Our assignment is to find out as much about our states as we can and I was wondering if you would help me out. Would you be willing to send me any information about your state? Some examples could be maps. brochures, souvenirs or anything else that would be helpful. We will be having a states fair at the end of the year to display all of our information. Thank you!

Phoebe Sumter earns top rating
First, I want to thank everyone for their concern, help, offers of help, prayers, calls, e-mails and cards since my accident and injury on Jan.11. I continue to be on the mend and hope to be 100 percent soon.
There are a number of folks I wish to acknowledge by name. I can’t possibly remember all them but I will never forget what they did for me.
Chip and Amanda with Vital Care/Phoebe Sumter EMS were great. They arrived quickly, calmed me and got me to the ER in a timely fashion.
Once I arrived in the ER at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, I never had a another care. My nurse, Kathy, was super efficient and compassionate. She kept me informed. It was comforting to have my friend Sue at my side with help in notifying my family and for her prayer prior to going to surgery. Thanks colleagues Kim and Cindy for coming to check on me.
I was happy to see Dr. Ben Andrews as well in the ER, not only because I know him but because he has an excellent reputation and I knew I would be OK in his care. As soon as x-rays confirmed the broken bones, I commented that I sure hoped Dr. John Fennessy was in town. Ben said he was just about to call him.
I could not have asked for a better surgeon because he rebuilt my right ankle and it’s working again! I hope everyone realizes how fortunate we are to have Dr. John Fennessy and his wife Dr. Patti Fennessy here in Americus. They could have chosen to live and work anywhere and they decided to come to Americus to live and work where John grew up. I am very thankful.
When I was in recovery I was so pleased so wake up and see Amzie’s beautiful face! She took me to my room and met my family members.
Every nurse, whether an RN or LPN, and all the CNAs were so kind and attentive during my two-night stay at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. I felt like I was a guest in a beautiful, new hotel rather than a patient (except for the pain meds).
I can now recommend Phoebe Sumter Medical Center to anyone and everyone. It’s difficult to believe we’ve only had this wonderful resource for a little over a year! We are so blessed as a community to have a health care facility of such high caliber and a team of dedicated and talented doctors, nurses and others who work together to treat each patient as an individual with compassion, dignity and the best medical care possible.
