Raiders sink Vikings in OT

MACON — Jay Angrish and Scott Burgess were both 6 of 8 from the free-throw line in overtime as Southland topped FPD in the Raiders’ season-opener, 38-30.
Angrish finished with 16 points and Burgess had 11.
FPD’s Walker Middlebrooks hit a 3-pointer with 13 seconds left to tie the game at 26 at the end of regulation.
Perry 51, Americus-Sumter 45
Torenzo Twenty scored 12 points and three others had six as the Panthers fell to Perry, 51-45.
Colby Perry had 21 rebounds, and the team made 13 of 23 free throws. Perry was 17-for-35 at the foul line.
The game was tied at 15 at halftime and Americus-Sumter (4-2) led 32-31 entering the final period.
Seniors Antavius Sims and Shaquille Harris didn’t play.

FPD 42, Southland 30
The Lady Raiders’ shooting woes continued Tuesday, going 10-for-55 (18 percent) in a 42-30 loss at FPD.
Caroline Clark led Southland (1-2) with eight points and eight rebounds. Sara Cathryn Parker and Mollie McGowan each had seven.
For their first three games, the Lady Raiders are shooting 20.6 percent from the floor.
