Americus

Outdoor Watering Ban: City of Americus residents living north of Lamar Street are allowed to water outside Monday, Wednesday and Saturday while those living south of Lamar Street can water Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Outdoor watering is allowed only between midnight and 10 a.m. Watering between 10 a.m. and midnight is prohibited.

Free Training: Child Care Resource & Referral Agency of West Georgia at Americus offers free training from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the South Georgia Technical College John Pope Center. Topics include introduction to special needs, behavior management— anger and identifying learning disabilities. A six-hour credit decal is awarded. Call 931-2997 or 877-711-0005 to reserve a space.

Grand Opening: Café Campesino, 725 Spring St., has a grand opening from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Come down for free samples and fun.

Fit for Life: Fit for Life Boot Camp is Sunday at Bethesda Baptist Church. Lose a minimum of 10 lbs. in two weeks. Weigh-in is from 4-6 p.m.; program purpose from 6-7 p.m. and eating regimen 7-8 p.m. For more information call Andrea 942-9516.

Ellaville

Benefit: A benefit barbecue and gospel sing begins at 5 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion for Gordon Battle, a resident of Schley County who is ill. The barbecue will be served at 5 p.m., and the singing starts at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $6.50. For more information, call Neil Snyder at 937-2028.
