Motorcycle Club: The Schley County Association of Concerned Citizens Inc. hosts the 75 South Motorcycle Club beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday. The motorcyclists will meet on the campus of the John Lewis Resource Center (the original John Lewis High School), 860 Spivey St. Admission is free. Concessions available for purchase. Mentor Training: LEAP-Communities In Schools of Sumter County Mentor Partnership holds mentor training from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday at the Stein Center (on the corner of Cotton Avene and Forsyth Street). TO RSVP or for more information on volunteering as a mentor for the Sumter County School System, contact Quay Lively at 924-9823 or email tqlively@yahoo.com Must be 18 years or older and have a GED or high school diploma to apply to mentor.

School Council: Sarah Cobb Elementary Real World Academy invites all interested persons to attend the School Council meeting at 5 p.m. Monday in the Media Center.

Free Classes: Lake Blackshear Regional Library offers Job Search Websites at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Microsoft Word for Beginners at 2 p.m. Saturday. Free and open to the public on a first come, first served basis. Stop by the library at 307 E. Lamar St., call 924-8091 or visit lbrls.org for more information.

Tourism Council: The Americus-Sumter Tourism Council meets Wednesday at the Americus-Sumter County Chamber of Commerce. The executive committee meets at 3:30 p.m., followed by the board at 4 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

City Reception: The City of Americus hosts a reception for Councilmember Eddie Rhea Walker from 5-8 p.m. Thursday in the Russell Thomas Jr. Public Safety Building lobby, 119 S. Lee St., in recognition of her years of service to the people of Americus and Sumter County. The public is invited.
