Hydrant Testing: The Americus Fire and Emergency Services is conducting a second round of hydrant testing which will continue until all City hydrants have been tested. If your water is a reddish color, run the water for about 5-10 minutes to clear it. If it doesn’t, call 924-3213.
Change in Hours: There are changes in tthe walk-in clinical walk-in service hours at the Sumter County Health Department. Registration is from 8 a.m.-4:15 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday.

Christmas Parade: Ring in the holiday season with a charming down home parade and welcome Santa to Americus Thursday.
Movie at the Market: Enjoy a great family outdoor event at the Saturday Movie at the Market located at Lenny’s Market on Hampton Street. Admission is free. Concessions available for purchase. Bring is your friends, family and a chair. Movie starts at 8 p.m.
Andersonville
Holloway’s Holly Day: Please join the City of Andersonville as they celebrate Christmas, with its third annual "Holloway's Holly Day" from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 5 at Pioneer Park. Free admission. For more information call 924-2068. In addition to delightful local shops, local vendors are invited to participate offering a vast array of unique holiday gift items. Santa will arrive at 3 p.m., with gifts for all the little ones! A professional photographer will be there for pictures with Santa, which will be available for purchase. There will also be a free children's area, with inflatables and baby-sitting.
