Camellia Show Postponed: The annual Camellia Show, has been postponed until March 1.

GSW Homecoming: Alumni and friends ofGeorgia Southwestern State University are invited for an evening of southern-style fuin and food, featuring Ronda Rich, syndicated columnist and author, on Friday at GSW Golf & Conference Center. Meet & Greet and cocktails (cash bar) are at 6 p.m. with dinner and entertainment at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are $25 and $35 ate the door.

Step Show:  NPHC Homecoming Step Show starts at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Storm Dome at Georgia Southwestern State University. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets can be purchased on the third floor of the Student Success Center.

Chamber Concert Series: Georgia Southwestern State University is having its 2013-2014 Chamber Concert Series. This year marks the 35th season of the series. Included are Ensemble Chaconne, Measure for Measure: Music of Shakespeare’s Plays — 7:30 p.m. — Feb. 4; Kontras Quartet — 7:30 p.m. Feb. 25; Albany Symphony featuring GSW, Albany State and Darton College Choirs, “Evening of Italian Opera”  — 3 p.m.  April 13, at Rylander Theatre. All performances take place in GSW’s Jackson Performance Hall, unless otherwise noted. Season tickets for all concerts are available: adults $45, GSW faculty and staff $40, senior citizens $35, and Habitat for Humanity volunteers $25. GSW students and children 15 and under admitted free of charge. Tickets to individual performances are also available and can be purchased at the door. Economic Outlook: The Center for Business and Economic Development at Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) host sthe 19th annual Sumter County Economic Outlook Luncheon at 1 p.m. Feb. 4 in the Thomas O. Marshall Jr. Pavilion Private Dining Room. This event is co-sponsored by the Americus Rotary Club. The featured speaker is William “Billy” Ussery, executive vice president and external relations with Oglethorpe Power Corporation. For information, contact Janie Mooney at 931-2090.

 

Food Service Training: Servsafe® Training for Food Service Managers is Feb. 25-26 at the Sumter County Agricultural Center, 127 William Bowen Pointe. Pre-registration is required by Feb. 7. Cost is $140. Call 924-4476 for more information or stop by the Sumter County Extension Office.
