Revised Hours: The Americus Police Department has revised its hours of operation for the front lobby in an effort to accommodate late afternoon commuters and workers. Effective Monday, March 5, hours of operation will be 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday. This will allow citizens who work during the day an opportunity to take care of any pending business they have at the police department such as obtaining incident reports or picking up and dropping off criminal histories.
Head Start Registration: Sumter County Head Start/Early Head Start are accepting applications for the 2012-13 school year. Must have birth certificate, proof of income and Medicard card (if applicable) to register. There is also a prenatal program for mothers in their first trimester. For more information call 924-7666.

Free Computer Classes: Lake Blackshear Regional Library offers Personal Computer Maintenance & Security at 11 a.m. March 3, Microsoft Excel for Beginners at 11 a.m. March 10, Intermediate Microsoft Excel at 11 a.m. March 17, Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint at 11 a.m. March 24 and Personal Computer Basics at 11 a.m. March 31.
