Shooting suspect back in Sumter County

One of the suspects in the Dec. 22 shootings on Price Street in Americus has been returned to Sumter County.

Jermaine Taylor, 40, of Columbus, who was critically injured and taken to the Macon Medical Center for surgery, was released from the hospital and transported to the Sumter County Jail Wednesday night. He is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Two people were killed in the shooting and three injured.
