Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) Commissioner Gary W. Black is alerting Georgians to the recall of certain products sold in Georgia that contain ground cumin which was processed with undeclared peanuts.

Due to an expanding product list, Georgians with a peanut allergy are urged to be cautious of products containing ground cumin. Individuals who have severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of a serious and even life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Recalled products that have been distributed in Georgia related to this issue currently include:

Garden Lites name-brand Kale & Quinoa Soufflé, Southwestern Soufflé, Veggie Chili & Cornbread Melt, Kale & Brown Rice Veggie Bites & Classic Cooking Kale and Quinoa Veggie Cakes

Zenobia Company, LLC, My Spice Sage Cumin Ground in various sizes

Morningstar Farms name-brand Spicy Black Bean Burgers and Chipotle Black Bean Burgers

Con Yeager Spice Ground Cumin and Seasoning Blends (containing Ground Cumin) sold under multiple different brand names in various sizes

Taj Ethnic Gourmet® name-brand Indian sauces in 16 ounce containers

B&M Harris Teeter Blue Cheese Jalapeno Seasoning in 6 ounce containers

Additional product details, including specific product numbers, lot codes and best-buy dates of these products are available through information on the GDA website at www.agr.georgia.gov/recalls.aspx. GDA food safety inspectors will be checking retail stores and warehouses to make sure the recalled products have been removed from sale.
