Lady Panthers, Panthers win two more

AMERICUS – The Americus-Sumter Lady Panthers continued their winning streak on Jan. 23-24 with a pair of wins in Americus against the Lee County Lady Trojans and the Dougherty County Lady Trojans. The ASCHS ladies defeated Lee County 54-43 on Friday Jan. 23 before suiting up to take down Dougherty 67-25 on the 24th.

The Lady Panthers’ overall record improved to 19-1 and region record goes up to 11-1. The Lady Panthers are currently sitting on a six-game winning streak.

The team returns to action on Jan. 27, facing Monroe High School in Albany.

The Americus -Sumter County boys had an eventful weekend as well, pulling in a pair of victories of their own against Lee and Dougherty in Americus. The Panthers brought in a 48-39 win over the Lee County Trojans on Jan. 23 and followed with a 53-36 trouncing of the Dougherty County Trojans on Jan. 24.

With the wins, the Panthers improve their overall record to 17-4 and region record to 8-4. The Panthers have won four games in a row going into their next match.

The team returns to action on Jan. 27, facing Monroe High School in Albany.
