Constance Hollie-Jawid and her brother, Leo Hollie, petitioned the Texas Historical Commission to place a marker commemorating a racially motivated massacre in July 1910 in the tiny community of Slocum. The man in the photo is their great-great grandfather, Jack Holley, who survived the killing spree.
