The City of Americus completed installation of its first electric vehicle charging station this week. Within hours the station had its first user, a local business owner who chose to dine in town for lunch rather than drive home to eat, and charge his car while lunching. By locating the station on the east side of the Municipal Building, at the corner of Lee and Lamar streets, the City hopes to continue to attract more visitors and customers to the downtown area.
