Police: Home owner catches record thief

Michael Meloy happened upon an unexpected surprise when he walked in on his Chickasha, Oklahoma home being burglarized on Friday.

The intruder seemingly wasn’t there for money or electronics. According to the Chickasha Police Department, Linday Ruth Williams broke into Meloy’s residence to commit some old school music piracy.

After Williams’ arrest, a small vinyl record labeled “All Time Fontana Hits” was discovered on her possession at the Grady County Jail.

According to police, when Melroy found Williams in his house, the window had been kicked in and his house was in a disarray. The couch cushions were removed and the hideaway bed had been partially pulled out. 

Meloy later identified Williams as the woman he had discovered in his house and confirmed ownership of the “All Time Fontana Hits” record. 

Williams was arrested for burglary in the first degree and knowing and concealing stolen property, according to the Chickasha Police Department. her bond has been set at $10,000.
