A Book Carnival to honor the Books for Sumter Initiative is Feb. 6 in the parking area between Sumter County Primary and Sumter County Elementary schools, on Bumphead Road. There will be some indoor games in the gyms of the schools. Three groups representing 2,000 students will alternate between stations to enjoy games and exercises related to the importance of reading and learning motivation in education.
