Nationally-ranked Columbus State sweeps GSW men’s tennis, 9-0

AMERICUS – The Georgia Southwestern men’s tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to No. 6 Columbus State in a non-conference match Tuesday afternoon at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex in the season opener for both schools.

Steven Blythe went 7-6 in his first set at No. 3 singles to almost give GSW a win but lost 6-4 in the second. Oliver Marshall and Abel Acuna-Moreno put up a tough fight in their doubles match but came out in an 8-4 loss.

The GSW men are 0-1 this season and host Fort Valley State on Feb. 6 at 2 p.m.
