ATLANTA — Mr. Jeremy Reese Alford, 35, passed awayTuesday evening, Feb. 17, 2015, at his residence in Atlanta, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at Plains United Methodist Church. Pastor Lauri Hartley will officiate. Interment will follow at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chris Fiertner, Kelly Robertson, John Olvera, Ryan Stewart and Matt Clements. The family will be receiving friends at the family residence, 213 N. Bond St., Plains, Ga.

Mr. Alford was born November 24, 1979 in Decatur, Ga., son of Greg Alford and Elizabeth Medlock “Rena” Alford. He was an instructor at Atlanta Hot Glass in Atlanta, Ga. He obtained a bachelor of fine arts degree from Georgia Southwestern State University. He was a member of Plains United Methodist Church.

Mr. Alford is survived by his parents, Greg Alford and Elizabeth Medlock “Rena” Alford; a sister, Courtney Maxwell of Box Springs, Ga.; one brother, Bryan Alford of Gulfport, Fla.; grandmother Josephine Dupree Medlock of Plains, Ga.; grandfather George Washington Alford of Conyers, Ga.; and three nephews, Schuyler English, Gavyn Maxwell and Gage Maxwell. A niece, Alyssa Maxwell and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive. Mr. Alford was preceded in death by grandfather Charles Reese Medlock and grandmother Martha Louise Kellum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Harvey Glass Blowing Studio Fund, Georgia Southwestern State University, 800 Wheatley St., Americus GA 31709.
