GSW golf 10th after first round at Southeastern Collegiate Invitational

VALDOSTA – The Georgia Southwestern men’s golf team finished day one at the Southeastern collegiate Invitational with a team score of 300 after the first 18 hole round at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club, a 72-par, 7311-yard course.

The men are currently in 10th out of a very tough 18 team field. Of the 18 teams, 10 are ranked in the top 25 and 4 of those are in the top 10 nationally. GSW is currently ranked 19th.

The individual field also proves to be very competitive, including 15 of the top 50 players ranked in the nation. Nicholas Ward (ranked 56th) and Anders Olsson lead GSW, both shooting +2 over par with a score of 74 and are sitting tied for 26th. Chris Low, Hayes Dupree and Fraser Johnston are all tied for 47th shooting +4 over par with a score of 76. The men shot +12 over par as a team.

The men returned to the links on March 9 for round 2 of another 18 holes. GSW will started on hole 10 with Johnston teeing off at 10 a.m., followed by Dupree at 10:09 a.m., Low at 10:18 a.m., Olsson at 10:27 a.m. and Ward at 10:36 a.m.
