GSW golf drops three spots after round two at Kinderlou Forest

VALDOSTA – Despite shooting one stroke better on day two at Kinderlou Forest, the Georgia Southwestern men’s golf team dropped three spots in the 18-team tournament on March 9.

GSW went from 10th place to tied for 13th after posting a team score of 299 in Round two. The Hurricanes had a team score of 300 in Round one on March 8, making their overall team total 599, shooting 11-over par.

Hayes Dupree started round two tied for forty-seventh with a score of 76 and jumped 20 spots in the individual field after getting two birdies and two bogeys and scoring a 72 today. Dupree is now tied for 27th along with Nicholas Ward with scores of 148 (four-over par).

Ward shot a 74 in both rounds and has four birdies and eight bogeys between the two days.

Chris Low also improved, moving from tied for 47th with a score of 76 to tied for 40th shooting a 75 with four bogeys and one birdie for the day.

Anders Olsson shot a 78 in round two, totaling a score of 152 after getting a 74 in round one, making him 8-over par. Fraser Johnston scored a 79 totalling 155 after shooting 76 yesterday bringing him to 11-over par.

The men returned to the links for the final round on March 10. GSW started on hole 10 with Johnston teeing off at 9:15 a.m., followed by Olsson at 9:24 a.m., Low at 9:33 a.m., Dupree at 9:42 a.m. and Ward at 9:51 a.m.
