City Council narrows City Manager search to two candidates

AMERICUS — The Mayor and City Council have narrowed the field of candidates for the position of City Manager to two candidates, L. Steve Kennedy and Douglas B. White.

Kennedy is the former City Manager for the City of Kennesaw for the past 13 years. He holds a bachelor of business administration in accounting and finance from Valdosta State University. He currently lives in Cartersville.

White is the former City Manager for Social Circle for the past 13 years and has over 26 years of experience in local government leadership. He holds a bachelor of science in economics from the University of Georgia. He currently lives in Social Circle,

Mayor Barry Blount and the City Council feel that either candidate has the experience, background and education to perform the duties of City Manager. They look forward to interviewing the candidates and making a decision in the near future, according to a press release,
