GSW’s Tompkins ranked #3 in nation for home runs and #1 in PBC for softball

AMERICUS – After hitting the game winning home run on March 25 against Brewton-Parker, Keri Tompkins became the leader for home runs in the Peach Belt Conference and is ranked third in the nation with 12 according to the recent DII Softball National Statistical Rankings.

Tompkins sits one home run behind the leaders Tiffany Hollingsworth from Humboldt State and Cailah Niles from Anderson S.C both with 13 home runs.

To be considered in the rankings a player must play in 75% of their team’s games and have 2.5 plate appearances per game for batting average, slugging percentage, on base percentage, and are listed on the stats screens.

Tompkins has played in all 32 games for the Georgia Southwestern softball team and has 108 plate appearances, 99 at bats, 19 runs, 35 hits and 30 RBI’s.

Overall Tompkins has a .354 batting average, .390 on base percentage and .747 slugging percentage.
