• Paul Bullard, 26, of 1791 Lafayette St., Americus is charged with DUI, tail lights violation and giving false name/address/birth date to law enforcement officer, and was jailed.

• Marquis R. Green, 23, of 105-A Linnie St., Americus is charged with DUI and failure to have license on person, and was released on bond.

• Firefighters responded to 18 calls for medical assistance.

• Firefighters responded to Hosanna Circle where they extinguished a pile of burning leaves behind the house.

• Firefighters responded to a report of vehicle v. pedestrian on Poplar Street.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Crawford which turned out to be a test of the system.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Wheatley Street. No hazards were found.

• Whitney J. White, 27, of Phenix City, Ala., is charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked, and was released on bond.

• James M. Wilson, 34, of 145 Pecan Terrace, Americus is charged with improper use of child restraint and driving while license is suspended or revoked, and was jailed.

Arrest

• Harry Carson, 55, of 862 Wise Road, Plains is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.

Sumter County Fire & Rescue

• Firefighters responded to five calls for medical assistance.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Henry Hart Road. There was no fire.

• Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Mask Road. Upon arrival they found a shed fully involved.

• Firefighters responded to a woods fire on Sylvan Road. They found a tree that had fallen and pulled power lines down, causing the blaze.

• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Brady and Mask roads.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Dowdy Road caused by a  burned pot of food.

• Firefighters responded to Fifth Street to search for a missing person. While en route, the person was located.

• Firefighters responded to U.S. Highway 280 West to a trash fire. Upon arrival they found some trees that had been cut down burning.

• Firefighters responded to Tommy Smith Road where they removed smoke from a house.
