GSW’s Dupree top 10 after two rounds at PBC golf championships

GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Georgia Southwestern men’s golf team sits in eighth out of 12 teams after two rounds at the Peach Belt Conference Championships at the par-72, 6,851-yard Greenwood Country Club.

GSW went into the April 18 round in third place with a team score of 292. The ‘Canes dropped five spots after posting a team score of 295 in Round 2. Young Harris College jumped three spots after shooting 15 strokes better today scoring a 279. Clayton State jumped two spots and shot eight strokes better today posting a team score of 286. 

Hayes Dupree jumped one spot and leads the Hurricanes shooting one-under par in both Round 1 and Round 2 with a combined score of 142, keeping himself 2-under par to sit tied for seventh going into Round 3. Dupree shot three 1-under par’s in today’s round to bring his tournament total to 5 birdies.

Nicholas Ward shot a lower scoring round today of a 73 to sit tied for 28th with an overall score of 147 going into the final round. Ward shot two birdies on April 18 to bring his two round total to five.

Chris Low started off the tournament with an eagle on hole one and finished Round 1 with a 73 and shot a 75 in Round 2. Low sits tied for 32nd with a total score of 148 heading into the final round on April 19.

Anders Olsson scored a 76 in Round 2 to bring his overall total to 151 to sit tied for 43rd going into the next round.

Fraser Johnston shot a 74 in Round 1 and a 78 in Round 2 to sit tied for 46th with a combined total of 158 going into Round 3. 

The Hurricanes will tee off on April 19 for the final round in the PBC Championships at 11:10 a.m. on hole one. Johnston will tee off first, followed by Olsson at 11:18 a.m., Low at 11:26 a.m., Ward at 11:34 a.m. and Dupree at 11:42 a.m.
