Co Co, the ‘coyote,’ is ready to roll with Laura Lee Bernstein on a 48-state, 45-day road trip around the country to raise money for the Sumter Humane Society.

Co Co, a decoy coyote, will be visiting lots of cool places such as the Grand Canyon, and other national parks, including Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico and Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. He also plans to visit another cave in West Virginia, hence the caving helmet that former caver Beth Alston, at right, is allowing him to use on the adventure.

Co Co and Bernstein will also visit places such as Las Vegas, Hoover Dam and many other locations around our great nation. Everyone will want to know on any given day, ‘Where’s Co Co?’ They can find out by visiting the Americus Times-Recorder’s website and Facebook page (www.americustimesrecorder.com) beginning May 22 because Co Co will be sending videos and photos every day!

A send-off party is scheduled to be held from 6-8 p.m. May 21 (the day before they depart on their big adventure) at Bittersweet, downtown Americus. Kids can get their photo taken with Co Co. The Sumter Humane Society (SHS) will have Where’s Co Co t-shirts for sale for $15 each with all the sponsors listed on the back as well as Where’s Co Co stickers.

It’s never too late to make a donation so SHS can continue to rescue and find forever homes for dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.
