SMITHVILLE — Mrs. Ramona May Bach Jones, 84, passed away early Wednesday morning, Aug. 19, 2015, at her home in Smithville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, at the committal pavilion at Andersonville National Historic Site, with the Rev. Wendy Peacock officiating. Interment followed in Andersonville National Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
The family received friends between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m.  Thursday at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St.
Born Sept. 30, 1930, in Grand Prairie, Alberta, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Dr. George Bach and Lyda May Klienschroth Bach. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker, an Air Force wife and a wonderful mother to six children.
Survivors include her loving husband, O. C. Jones of Smithville; one son, Richard Jones (Cathy) of Tupelo, Miss.; four daughters: Lyda Brenner (Richard) of San Antonio, Texas, Marilyn Theus (Eddie Eagle) of Montevallo, Ala., Lori Adams (Wayne) of Ellaville, Ga., and Robin Oliver (Timothy) of Canton, Ga.; two brothers: Gordon Bach (Shirley) and George Bach (Louise), all of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; two sisters: Colleen Pieterse (John) of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and Joan Bach of Duffield, Alberta, Canada; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, O. C. Jones Jr.; a sister, Helen Doupe; a grandson, Kenneth Hutchins; a great-grandson, Jonathan Strickland; and two infant great-grandsons, Mason and Jerrod.
