• Firefighters responded to 33 calls for medical attention.
• Firefighters stood by at Americus-Sumter High School for a football game.
• Firefighters responded a alarm on Strife Street which was caused by cooking.
• Firefighters responded to a cooking fire on South Lee Street.
• Firefighters responded to a gas spill on Crawford Street.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Bronco and Armory drives.
• Firefighters responded an unauthorized burn on South Lee Street. They found occupants burning a pile of leaves. They requested the occupant extinguish it due to the city ordinance.
• Firefighters responded  an alarm on Madison Street. Occupant advised she had left a burner cover on the stove and smoke activated the alarm.
• Firefighters responded to Harvey Lane where they found a tree limb on part of a house and on power lines. They requested Georgia Power to respond.
• Firefighters responded to a gas leak on North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Peachtree and Adderton streets.
• Firefighters responded to a lightning strike at the Rylander Theatre, 306 W. Lamar St. They investigated and found there were no hazards.
• Firefighters stood by for a football game at Southland Academy.
• Firefighters responded to a gas leak on Pine Avenue. They found a propane tank outside with the valve open.
• Firefighters responded an alarm on Strife Street which was accidentally set off.
• Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire at Peggyanne Drive and Lorraine Avenue.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm in Elm Avenue which was triggered by cooking.
• Firefighters responded a a report of smoke in the garage on Burton Circle. They found no smoke but occupant said there had been smoke coming from the water heater where burned wires were observed.
• Firefighters responded to an unauthorized burn on Magnolia Court, where they found a barrel full of papers burning, unattended. It was extinguished.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Bumphead Road  where they found someone had pulled the alarm.
• Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire on Patterson Street.

• Dante’ J. Barnes, 20, of Columbus is charged with driving while unlicensed.
• Kimberly D. Fleming, 21, of Leesburg is charged with violating tag light requirements and DUI.
• Pedro P. Gomez, 20, of 1217 Oglethorpe Ave., Americus is charged with speeding and driving while unlicensed.
• A juvenile was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and unruliness on Sunset Drive.
• Kevin M. Lewis, 34, of 108 Freida Lane, Americus is charged with DUI and failure to maintain lane.
• Shannon K. Lewis, 29, of 211 Hosanna Circle, Americus is charged with failure to dim headlights and driving while license is suspended.
• Torriano Mercer, 18, of 916 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Lot 12, Americus is charged with theft by taking.
• Denice M. Stevens, 45, of 157 Apple Lane, Preston is charged with theft by shoplifting (second offense).
• Tyler A. Vallansingham, 21, of Albany is charged with public urination.
• Kedrick D. Williams, 30, of 503 E. Jefferson St., Americus was arrested on outstanding probation warrants.
