Recently Dana Dillard’s English 10 Honors class at Southland Academy completed a study of Kate Chopin’s groundbreaking novel, The Awakening. Students were asked to select a character from the book, compose a character sketch about him/her, and then deliver a monologue to the class introducing themselves as their chosen characters.
