AMERICUS — Janie Turner Cauley, 93, of 2001 S. Lee St., Americus, died at her residence Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015. A native of Dooly County, she was born Oct. 11, 1921, the daughter  of the late Otis and Emma Barry Hall. Mrs. Cauley was the oldest member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. She loved working with her flowers in the yard and also loved taking care of her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2015 at Rehoboth Baptist Churchwith the Rev. Greg Kirk and the Rev. James Beckett officiating and burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel, and at other times the residence of Jane Austin Bailey. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice. Pallbearers include Mike Turner, Ted Turner, Bryan Turner, Patrick Turner, Cullen Austin, Christian King, Gaven King and Turner Gillis.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jane Austin Bailey (Darrell) of Americus; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie Turner (Patricia) of Americus and Pat Turner (Deborah) of Smithville; a sister, Willie Maude “Sister” Jackson of Americus; 13 grandchildren, Mike Turner, Michelle Turner Mayes, Ted Turner, Lisa Turner Simpson, Erikka Turner, Angie Turner Gillis, Bryan Turner, Deanna Turner King, Kristy Turner Kobs, Patrick Turner, Brittney Dennard Avant, Chealsea Turner Cromer and Cullen Austin; three stepgrandchildren, Tyler Bailey, Alex Bailey and Cole Bailey; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald W. Turner and Patrick “Teddy” R.Turner.
